10 top tips when considering your kitchen!

Don’t forget the invisible triangle! Fridge/cooker/sink all need to be in close proximity for most practical cooking!...No more than 6 feet between each!

Plan what you need and where it will go ahead of time… don’t get caught out with insufficient number of electric sockets! its awful to find you don’t have enough power supply when its too late!

Going Gas for your hob? Remember you will still need an electric supply to ignite!

Going Induction? I love induction hobs, they are quick to get hot and cool off, and easy to keep clean.. however remember you may need to change all your pots and pans!

Plan for as much storage as possible! Overhead cabinets can be built right up to the ceiling, and you aren’t tempted to put things on top that just look messy and collect dust!

Deep drawers are my favourite kitchen accessory.. there’s nothing worse than trying to get pots and pans out of the back of a dark cabinet!

Plan for enough appliances  Clear your counter tops for more work space! There are some great multi-function ovens, integrated coffee machines, taps that serve you boiling, cold and fizzy water.. to name but a few! These things come at a cost, but worth it if you can!

Consider the Lighting! You might have planned for plenty of overhead light, but you still need to light your counter tops… LED lighting that’s hidden behind wall cabinets, but allows you to see what you’re doing, is a must! And if you are lucky enough to have an Island, pendant lighting can be a joy to design with so many beautiful things on the market!

Just an update?  Keep your cabinets, but change the doors, handles, worktops and appliances at a fraction of the cost of a new kitchen, but if you are going with everything new, then bin your old appliances! They will stick out like a sore thumb!

Love Built in Bins! Ensure your bins are close to where you will be preparing your food… then you can simply slide your carrot shavings and what-nots straight in! It looks tidy, reduces smells and speeds up cooking time!

Bonus Tip!! Stay on trend but remember your kitchen is a long term investment!
